Cost guide

What concrete leveling costs, by the slab

Leveling is priced by the area lifted and the amount of material pumped underneath. A deep void under a small slab can cost more than a shallow drop under a big one.

Lift or replace?

Leveling is usually far cheaper than tearing out and pouring new, and you can use the slab right away or the next day. Replacement wins when the slab is broken into many pieces, scaling badly, or heaved by roots. Lifting a slab that is falling apart only gets you a level slab that is still falling apart.

Do not skip the joints

After lifting, the joints between slabs and against the house are sealed so water cannot wash out the soil again. Skipping that step is how a slab ends up sinking a second time.

Quick answers

Is foam worth the extra cost?

On soft soils and slabs near the foundation, the lighter foam adds less weight. On simple walkways, mudjacking often does the job for less.

How long does a lift take?

Most residential jobs take a few hours.

Can a driveway carry a car right away?

After foam lifting, usually within the hour. After mudjacking, give it a day.

Seeing a crack you did not see last year?

Call or send the form. An inspector measures the house, explains what is moving and why, and puts the repair and its price on paper before anything is dug.
