City, county or St. Charles: who issues the permit
The City of St. Louis is independent of St. Louis County and runs its own Building Division. Unincorporated county areas such as Mehlville and Affton get permits from St. Louis County. Many county towns, including Kirkwood, Webster Groves, Florissant and University City, have their own building offices. Across the Missouri River, the cities of St. Charles and St. Peters issue their own, and St. Charles County covers the rest.
You do not have to sort this out. We check your address and file with the right office.
Book a free foundation inspection
We call back the same day to set a time. The inspector measures, looks at the soil and the walls, and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.

Florissant
Florissant has French colonial roots and an old town near the center, but most of its houses went up in the postwar years: long streets of brick ranches on block and poured basements..

Chesterfield
Chesterfield spreads from the Missouri River bottoms up into wooded hills.

Ballwin
Ballwin's streets roll up and down, and so do its basements.

Kirkwood
Kirkwood grew up around the railroad in the 1800s, and many of its older houses still stand on the stone foundations they were built with.

Webster Groves
Webster Groves earned its name as the Queen of the Suburbs with big Victorian and early-1900s houses under old trees.

University City
University City's blocks of early-1900s brick homes, many of them big, solid and close together, sit near the River des Peres.
